My adventures with grilling and hair

Okay, so there is never a freakin’ dull moment in my life.  Ever.

Grilling and saving burnt hair

Went to start up the grill --  which I’ve done probably a million times.  I grill way more than Dave does.  Well.  This time I got a little bit of a surprise.  The dern thing went WOOOOOSHHHHH and a burst of flame shot up and singed the heck out of my hair.  It was a lovely (& smelly) new look. My first thought was “Lord I hope I still have eyebrows.”  I mean have you seen how ridiculous people look when they make attempts to draw them on….

Thankfully the worst of it was the hair. Crinkly, brittle, can’t run the brush through it burned, but other than that I was no worse for wear.  And, yes, I make light of it now, but I do realize how much worse it could have been, and I’m very thankful.

Too bad I didn’t take a before pic, because you cannot even tell anything happened.

Grill and burnt hair solutions

Oils to the rescue!  I took a small squirt bottle and added about a tablespoon of almond oil, 3 drops of Sandalwood essential oil and 3 drops of Lavender essential oil.  I used maybe a dime sized amount and massaged it into the ends of my hair.  I left it on for an hour or two and then showered and shampooed/conditioned with my doTERRA shampoo.

I'm back to normal..  And it smelled fantastic too.

Why those oils?  I chose Sandalwood because it has been used for centuries to prevent hair dryness; it helps restore moisture and gives hair a silky shine.  Lavender is a wonderful hydrator. It will deeply condition and repair split ends, dry hair and scalp and prevent breakage. And Almond oil?  It’s also hydrating and I figured my hair needed all the help it could get.

Good thing there’s an oil for everything, ‘cause I need all the dang help I can get………

Must admit I never use oils, even on my hair (which could probably do with the extra nourishment, especially on the ends). Might have to give it a go soon, so if it helps. x
