How to make the Best DIY Lip Balm ever

This DIY Lip Balm has been deemed the "BEST ever"best DIY lip balm ever

My theme of life right now is "Healthy can be simple."   I want to use the best things, but also not over-complicate matters.  This DIY lip balm recipe is 1) EASY 2) amazing for your lips and 3) inexpensive to make. I give these little tins away at my oil classes (you should come to one!) or just as thoughtful gifts to friends. I generally have an extra in my purse for whenever a chapped lip emergency happens.  The secret to its amazingness?  Shhhhhhh......It's the avocado oil.  SO good for your skin (and lips)!

The recipe?  DIY lip balm ingredientsEqual parts coconut oil, avocado oil, and beeswax.
I usually use 1/4 cup to make 15-20 tins.
Melt this in a double boiler (I use a small skillet with water and a pyrex measuring cup).

Once it's all melty, add a tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of vitamin E oil (optional) and mix well.

Remove from heat and add your essential oils.

You can be completely creative here.  My favorite is a peppermint/spearmint combo. (What are my oils of choice?

It's cooling and refreshing and I rarely make any other combo any more  For this quantity I used 15 drops of each oil. Everyone I have given this lip balm to says it's THE BEST they've ever used.  And it took me maybe 15 minutes to make.  I love to use the little slide-y tins as containers (I get from Bulk Apothecary) and we decorate them with washi tape (I have a little obsession with washi tape right now).  You could use tubes or small jars -- really whatever you want. There you have it -- super simple DIY Lip Balm - and an ingredient list that is easy to pronounce!  Curious as to what ingredients to avoid in store bought balms?  Check out this from Mind Body Green)
