Soak away Holiday Stress

Send Holiday Stress packing this season

How is it the seventh of December and I have like 2 gifts ready?  Life has been an adventure lately for sure.  Full to overflowing of great stuff and not-so-great stuff (and a touch of really sad too). I let myself get completely overwhelmed last week. Then I beat myself up over that, because I know flares follow stress around like a little lost puppy.  And of course that just adds to the holiday stress.  Time to hop of that roller coaster.

Fire up the diffuser

ditch holiday stress

One way I'm doing that is by utilizing oils that help me relax.  I'm posting holiday diffuser blends every day on my Instagram.  They are helping me let go of the crazy.  If you want some effective oils to diffuse, choose anything with citrus oils as they are very uplifting and encouraging.  Tree oils (Frankincense, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Myrrh, etc) are grounding and settling.  Spice oils are warm, welcoming, and can help you feel empowered and definitely helps get rid of holiday stress.

Turn up the tunes and pull out the gift making supplies

Put on your favorite holiday music.  Have a dance party.  For reals.  Dance like no one is watching and don't care if they are.  I'm doing that and then pulling out some of my gift making supplies to create some great gifts for the important people in my life.  Most of the gifts I'm am making are super simple, include easy to find ingredients, and yet are still incredibly thoughtful.  It's a perfect combination! For example, these Fizzy Bath Salts are a great twist on traditional bath salts and are simpler to make than bath bombs. My littlest elf helper from the video loved making these for his momma.

Fizzy Bath Salts

1/2 cup Epsom salts
1/3 cups baking soda
2-3 Tbsp citric acid (I got mine HERE)
6-10 drops doTERRA essential oil such as Peppermint, Lavender, Serenity, or Citrus Bliss (more info on ordering these amazing oils HERE).

Combine Epsom Salts, Baking Soda and Citric Acid, then add essential oils & mix well.  We used some 1/2 pound coffee bags (like THESE) but you can use cute jars, fillable ornaments....don't be afraid to be creative! The cool benefit here is that you'll knock some gifts off your list, which helps with stress, AND you are giving your peeps something that will help them relax and improve their health.  Talk about a win-win situation.  Make sure to make extra for yourself.  Pour a glass of wine, make a cup of tea, grab your favorite book, and go take a bath.  You're welcome.
