DIY Sugar Scrub to the rescue
I've really let time get away from me lately, and yet I still want to give some special people in our lives some gifts that they will truly enjoy. Sugar scrubs are easy, pampering, and fun to make. Mix in COFFEE and this DIY Sugar Scrub smells DIVINE and is oh so good for your skin. Sugar scrubs make great gifts, and this one will make you feel like you ust stepped into your favorite coffee shop. We mixed up a few jars of this DIY sugar scrub tonight in no time.
Coffee scrubs are great for exfoliating the skin; they remove your dry, dead skin and reveal new, healthy-looking skin. Coffee also has another secret weapon for your skin: caffeine. Caffeine is a compound that is found abundantly in tea and coffee plants around the world. Caffeine helps tighten the skin, which can help reduce cellulite. Caffeine is also loaded with antioxidants, which help to fight premature skin aging like wrinkles, sun spots, and fine lines. For this DIY Sugar Scrub, we used 1/2 used coffee grounds and 1/2 new grounds because I like the texture of the used grounds, but we wanted to be sure to have a decent caffeine content.
Sometimes sugar is good
And while we may not want a lot of sugary treats in our diets, sugar is actually a great natural humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the environment into the skin. So when you use something like this sugar scrub, it actually helps hydrate your skin and keeps it moisturized. Cinnamon essential oil is a hot oil which means you do need to be wise about topical use and dilute appropriately (with only a few drops in on jar of DIY sugar scrub, you're good to go). It does, however, have some wonderful healing properties for your skin. Cinnamon oil can be a definite plus for problem skin. But gracious. Even if you have perfect skin, the sugar/coffee/cinnamon combo is truly spectacular.
